Hi, I’m Larry.

I’m your Sunnyvale Mayor.

Thanks for your trust and support, I was elected as Sunnyvale’s first directly-elected Mayor in November of 2020, and I’m running for re-election in November of 2024. I’ve amplified Sunnyvale’s regional voice, lead our city through a global pandemic, and made our streets safer.

With my experience, passion and track record – I have worked to make sure all voices are heard in our diverse community. Together, we have weathered difficult times and made progress in numerous important issues. 

I am running for re-election for Mayor in 2024. I hope to earn your vote and support once again, so I can continue to work for a better Sunnyvale for everyone.

”Coordinated the regional effort and got funding to extend Stevens Creek Trail to Fremont Avenue

”As Mayor during COVID, I coordinated all 15 County Mayors to advocate with County Health to partner with all cities and bring pandemic services to Sunnyvale and other cities

”Successfully advocated and got funding for an Evelyn Avenue Multi-use Trail, connecting Sunnyvale and Mountain View Downtowns

”In 2019, started the yearly raising of the LGBTQ Flag at City Hall for LGBTQ Pride Month

”Successfully advocated to lower the speed limit on El Camino Real to 35MPH--making it safer for all

”Worked with advocates, Staff & Council to approve Moffett Park Specific Plan. Adding 20K units of housing. and 500K sq ft of retail to our longterm vision

Larry worked with the Sunnyvale Downtown Association to convert Historic Murphy Avenue into a pedestrian-only zone for al fresco dining during COVID-19, and now it’s a permanent Pedestrian Zone.
